Teen Summit 

Held on a School Holiday in Fall

With presenting partner: Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties

Building on the success of previous Teen Summits, we will grow this all day personal development conference.  The Teen Summit offers attendees the opportunity to try new things and learn new skills in a fun and entertaining day. Summer Teen Popups 

In partnership with local businesses, we organize small group meetups in the Historic Downtown and Waterfront Park areas to connect Teens with social, hobby and recreational interests.  These Popups are a low cost / low commitment opportunity to try a new activity or hobby.

One Day Closer – College Prep Series

Late Summer/Fall

With supporting partners:

Community Foundation of South Lake & Sylvan Learning Center

This Series supports South Lake County students in planning for and navigating the college application/financial aid process.  Sessions include:

  • SAT/ACT Test Prep
  • How to research and evaluate colleges
  • Navigating the financial aid maze
  • Open help sessions with experienced guidance counselors

Thrive Clermont’s Teen Advisory Council (TAC) will play a critical role in the planning and implementation of the 2018 Initiatives as well as assisting in the development of future programming. TAC applications are being accepted on our website ThriveClermont.org.  This unique volunteer opportunity is open to any teen ages 13 or older that have not yet graduated from high school.  We have a few spaces left so get involved today!
